PORTLAND, Ore. – A 21-year-old man is facing some serious charges after investigators say he pulled a 14-year-old girl into a yard and sexually assaulted her.
Sawsulien Bohannan was arrested Sunday night and appeared in court for his arraingment on Monday. He has a long history of problems with police, including several felony meth-related convictions, and had just gotten out of jail after serving time for a theft conviction.
His latest run-in with police began around 5 p.m. Sunday. Police say the victim was walking home along Southeast 87th Street in Portland when she was grabbed, according to court documents. The man sexually assaulted her in a yard and then let her go. She then went home and told her parents what had happened.
The girl’s father went looking for the man and tracked him down near Southeast 90th Avenue and Flavel Street. The victim identified the man, Sawsulien Bohannan, as her attacker and police took him into custody.
Bohannan is charged with first-degree rape, first-degree sexual abuse and first-degree unlawful sexual penetration. He is scheduled to be back in court on Tuesday.
