Man busted for dealing after complaining about drugs on his street
PORTLAND, Ore. - A man who complained to police about drugs in his neighborhood now stands accused of dealing heroin out of his home.
Greg Anderson, 54, is facing four felony charges for allegedly dealing the drug near a school and three felonies for possession.
On Friday, police seized guns, ammunition, cash and a surveillance system from Anderson's home in the 6500 block of North Montana Street. No drugs were found but officers said they had previously confiscated drugs from Anderson.
Folks who live in the area were stunned to learn of their neighbor's arrest because Anderson had helped draw police attention to a drug problem on the street.
"When he said that, and other neighbors corroborated that information, that's when we knew there was something to look at in this particular neighborhood or on this street," said Lt. John Scruggs with the Portland Police Bureau. "And then when we zeroed in, we realized that he's one of the guys who flagged us down and told us about drug dealing activity. And it was actually at his house."
