Salem police charge man in Walmart parking lot murder

SALEM, Ore. -- Detectives from the Salem Police Department arrested a 41-year-old man Tuesday for the murder of a Salem man.
Mark Edward Brown was arrested at a Tigard hotel room early Tuesday morning for the murder of Bryan John Lee Knorr, who was shot in the Walmart parking lot in Southeast Salem early in the morning on Sept. 3.
Police said Knorr had been inside the store shopping Monday morning. When he left the store, he made it to the handicap parking spots in front of the store before he was confronted by a man. The two exchanged words briefly before the shooter opened fired, investigators said.
Knorr died later at Salem Hospital.
KATU News learned Knorr got a ride to the store with someone else.
Police interviewed a number of witnesses who were at the store, which is open 24 hours a day. They were also reviewing surveillance video from a number of cameras outside the store.
Authorities said evidence they have so far was that Knorr and Brown may have known each other, but police have yet to release any details or motives for the killing.
Salem Police detectives were assisted by the US Marshal's Service, Washington County Sheriff's Office, Tigard Police Department, Beaverton Police Department and Hillsboro Police Department.
Brown will be booked into the Marion County Jail.
Having a "rap sheet" means one has been a bad person. It's what they are doing now that determines if they are still bad or are changing themselves. Some bad people can't change nor be helped. Some just don't get it. All people are a product of their upbringing and environment.
just cuz someone has a rap sheet doesnt mean that they are a bad person. i knew of the guy and he was turning his life around. no matter the situation i dont think anyone has the right to kill another human no matter wat. Bryan was a good guy and didnt deserve to have his life taken. i hope that Mr. Brown gets life in prison.
you're kidding, white people also do violent crimes? Oh my gosh, what is this world coming too.Â
Bryan John Lee Knorr had a multiple page rap sheet which includes numerous violations of stalking orders, rape, parole violations, etc. Mark Edward Brown doesn't appear to have anything in Oregon. Hmmm, leads one to speculate a bit.
@I812 I know this because he is the father of 2 of my cousin's kids. I know him quite well, he has an extensive criminal record
@Becki Swenson Where's your proof? And, don't tell others what to do on this forum. If you don't like what you see stop reading it or ignore it. Obviously your mouth is bigger than your brain. Love that pink/violet hair too.Â
@I812 Yeah, he did. Check your facts before you speak

@Becki Swenson Well Becki Swenson, you seem to like jumping to conclusions. I said "Mark Edward Brown doesn't appear to have anything in Oregon." I did not state anything related to Brown as fact. I said doesn't APPEAR to have anything in Oregon. You can check criminalpages.com just like I did.
@I812 I have seen Mr. Brown's crimminal report and I know Becki's cousin as well. The report his cousin has had for a few years that extends from Washington, Oregon and Florida where he did time in prison. That is only three states out of the five included in the report. Some of those sites that do back ground checks may only extend so far back. Mr. Brown's crimminal record goes from teenage years to current. I think that the only people that really know what his crimes are and to what extent,(which his crimminal activity now ver possibly even involves more that listed on this article or even what I have seen because the cases are still being built againest him), are the lawyers and detectives involved with the case. Alot of people have had their lives touched by this man and the list of charges could go on. I am happy Becki's cousin is safley away from Mr. Brown and that she does have a copy of his report she obtained through law enforcement directly.
@I812 Hmmm indeed; you may be on to something there.
I'm glad that it's over for us. But, life after death has just begun for Mr. Mark Edward Brown.Â

@HarryJuku That is correct, guns do not kill people. If you place a gun on a table, it is 100% impossible for that gun go get up on it's own, leave the house, and kill somebody. It may make it easier to kill someone than with your bare hands, but it is not in itself a killer. And I do not support gun regulation. Criminals have no regard for the law, why would they care about gun regulation? The only thing gun laws do is keep guns out of the hands of good people who uphold the law. It will never keep them away from criminals.
@HarryJuku Sorry Harry, but the only thing hollow here is your head. Clearly this man was intent to kill the other. Do you really think that had he not had a gun he wouldn't have used another method? I would think stealing a car and running him over would have been a much better tactic.
