Man convicted of attempted murder for Vancouver hammer attack

VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) — A man who attacked his girlfriend and best friend with a hammer when he found them in bed together has been convicted in Vancouver of attempted murder.

The Columbian reports a Clark County jury returned the guilty verdict Friday against 31-year-old Marcus Morrison of Battle Ground.

Prosecutors say Morrison beat them both in their heads with a hammer when he found them sleeping last November at his friend's Vancouver home.

The defense lawyer said Morrison acted in passion and didn't intend to kill.
