PORTLAND, Ore. - Homicide and gang team detectives arrested three people after a deadly shooting of a man in the parking lot of Mystic Gentlemen's Club in the Hazelwood neighborhood of Southeast Portland.

Police said Robert Edward Ford, 31, was shot at the strip club late Wednesday night and later died at the hospital.

The club is located near SE 99th and Stark Street.

Police said witnesses told them a silver car, possibly a Lexus, was involved and officers stopped a similar vehicle near 192nd and East Burnside Street after the shooting.

Three people inside the car were all arrested in connection with the shooting.

Cleveland Dante Nelson III, 28, and Mark Edward Hardy Jr., 27, were both charged with murder. A third person, India Ludelia Vasquez, 25, was arrested for tampering with evidence, a police spokesman said.

Witnesses told police Ford crashed into several cars and a party bus in the parking lot after he was shot.

"At first I thought it was just a car collision," Rick Humphrey, who lives nearby, told KATU News. "There were two of them, right after each other, so I didn't think it was a car collision. That's when I heard the police cars coming so I came up here."

Detectives think the shooting is gang-related.

That makes it the eighth gang-related shooting Portland in the last two weeks. Police said 17 officers have been added to the gang task force.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call 503-823-3333 to make a report.
