Man in custody after firing gun in NE Portland, police say

PORTLAND, Ore. – Two cousins are in custody, linked to Friday’s shooting investigation in Northeast Portland.

Police responded to reports of gunfire in the area of Northeast 90th Avenue and Sandy Boulevard just after 4:30 p.m. No one was hurt.

Officers arrested 30-year-old Rome Tavai and his cousin 26-year-old Fano Lemusu near the intersection of 90th Avenue and Going Street.

Police say Tavai fired several rounds in the air with a handgun. Police found two guns in Tavai’s car. Inside Lemusu’s car, they found another gun and prescription drugs.

Both men are in the Multnomah County Jail and will be in court on Monday.
