Man robs downtown Portland ice cream shop with syringe

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Police want to find the man who robbed a downtown ice cream store with a syringe, claiming it was contaminated with the AIDS virus.
Officers responded to the Baskin-Robbins on 625 Southwest Broadway on Tuesday night. Employees told them the man walked into the store and demanded money, telling them he had a contaminated needle with him. They gave him cash and he walked out of the store.

One Baskin-Robbins employee has quit after this most recent robbery.

Workers described him as a white man in his 20s. He's 5'9" with a skinny build and brown hair. He was wearing glasses and bright colors. If you have any information about the robbery, call the Portland Police Bureau's robbery detectives at (503) 823-0405.
