Man shot in chest in Woodburn, police search for suspect
WOODBURN, Ore. - Police are on the lookout for a gunman after they found a man lying on the ground bleeding with a gunshot wound in his chest.
The incident was centered in the 500 block of Hardcastle Avenue in Woodburn.
The victim, a man in his mid-20s, was taken to a local hospital for treatment. He was reportedly talking with police before he was transported.
A next-door neighbor heard the gunshots and told KATU News that he did not recognize the victim as someone who had been seen around the neighborhood.
Folks who live in the area say crime is common there and they believe it's not safe to walk at night.
"I wouldn't walk through here, personally, if I didn't have to - if I didn't live here," said Joshua Arthur, who lives near the crime scene.
Police are working with the victim to come up with a suspect description. They are also asking for tips or leads from anyone who may have seen the shooting.

There is a large population of overweight, white, republican males in that community. I suspect one of them.
@I_Miss Wow. You must be talking about a different Woodburn than the one I live near.
