Man shot in the chest in Hillsboro

HILLSBORO, Ore. -- A shooting in Hillsboro sent one man to the hospital.

Police believe the shooting was gang-related.

It happened around 8:15 in front of 207 NW Adams, according to Lt. Michael Rouches of the Hillsboro Police Department.

Rouches tells KATU it’s not known yet what precipitated the shooting but the victim - only identified as a 24-year-old man - was believed to be arguing with two men on the street when one pulled a gun and shot him.

Only one bullet was fired.

A gun was recovered a block away by K-9 officers but the suspects are still on the loose.

The men then fled in the car.

Rouches said that at this time they do not have a decription of the car or the people in it.

Detectives believe the suspects and victim know each other.
