Man stabs father during argument over car repair

HILLSBORO, Ore. – A man stabbed his father during an argument over a car repair Monday, police said.

According to Hillsboro police spokesman Lt. Mike Rouches, Tyson Zoren called 911 after stabbing his father Timothy Zoren seven times at their car-repair business.

Officers responded to the stabbing call at 9:10 a.m. at 2810 Southeast 39th Loop. They found Timothy Zoren heavily bleeding with stab wounds to his head, neck, lower back and stomach, Rouches said. Medics took him to OHSU with injuries that Rouches said were not life-threatening.

Tyson Zoren told police that his father began punching him during an argument over a car repair, so he pulled out a 3-inch blade in self-defense and stabbed his father multiple times, Rouches said.

Tyson Zoren was arrested on assault charges.
