Man surrenders in Vancouver standoff after threat against woman, police say
From Chopper 2, a man can be seen being taken into custody after a standoff with Vancouver police.

VANCOUVER, Wash. – A man surrendered and was taken into custody Friday after a standoff with police.

Vancouver police went to a house at Northeast 11th Street and 108th Avenue at about 2:30 p.m. From Chopper 2, police were seen taking a man wearing a white T-shirt and jeans into custody shortly before 5 p.m.

Police said a woman who was picking up a child at school mentioned that she was being threatened at home. That’s when police responded and surrounded the home.

The man apparently had access to a number of weapons, police were told. Eventually, they were able to get the man on the phone and convince him to surrender.

Police said the man faces domestic violence charges for the threats against a woman.

Police have not yet released the man's name.
