Man tied up and robbed in Cannon Beach

CANNON BEACH, Ore. -- Police in Cannon Beach are looking for an armed suspect after a man was tied up and robbed at gunpoint, then dropped off outside a local hotel.

An employee at the Stephanie Inn called police around 3 a.m. Sunday, saying she'd seen a man standing outside the business with his hands tied behind his back.

The victim told police he'd been held up at gunpoint, then restrained. He says the robber stole an undetermined amount of cash.

The suspect is described as having a thin build, right handed, wearing dark clothing and a black ski mask.

The victim described the armed man's car as a dark-colored Chevrolet sedan, possibly a Chevy Cruze.

Anyone who was in the area of the Stephanie Inn between 2 and 4 a.m. and who saw anything suspicious, or anyone who has any information that could help in this investigation is asked to call the Cannon Beach Police Department at 503-436-2811.

Witnesses can also send an email to Chief Jason Schermerhorn.
