PORTLAND, Ore. - A Southeast Portland woman says her neighborhood was terrorized by an out-of-control man.
Police say 28-year-old Yuri Feitser stole a car and crashed it into Linda Williams house and then tried to break in.
"I thought he was going to murder me. I thought I would be murdered," Williams said.
Williams said she tried calling 9-1-1 but because of the call volume she had to wait about a minute longer than normal before she could speak with someone.
Officials tell KATU News that is unusual and all the calls before Williams were also emergency.
In the meantime, Williams, who is 67 years old, went into shock and her back gave out. She was lying on the floor of the kitchen listening to Yuri break into her home.
"I spent the rest of the time on the phone with 9-1-1 operator on the floor of the kitchen. I mean how much more vulnerable can you get? While he was ranting and screaming and throwing himself against the door," Williams said.
Officers arrived a short time later and arrested Feitser. He has a long criminal background and appeared in court Wednesday afternoon. Williams said she has never seen him before and is considering buying a gun.
