Man with distinctive tattoos sought in connection with home invasion
SALEM, Ore. - A man believed to have been involved in a violent home invasion is wanted by police.
Dennis James Knight, 33, of Grand Ronde is one of two suspects wanted in connection with the crime, which happened late January in the 4000 block of Jade Street Northeast in Salem.
The sheriff's office believes Knight and another person entered a pool house at the back of a home and tried to rob the occupant. The person they were trying to rob, 50-year-old Christopher Riesch, ended up getting shot.
Knight frequents both Salem and Grand Ronde. He is 6 feet, 4 inches tall, weighs 240 pounds and has brown hair. He also has numerous tattoos - the most noticeable are the bear claws on his hands.
Anyone with information on Knight's whereabouts is asked to call Detective Mike Myers with the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office at (503) 540-8096 or contact him by email. You may remain anonymous.
Police have not yet been able to identify the second suspect and are also hoping that information surfaces about that person.

They can actually be used to identify someone with modified face recognition software if the tattoo is programmed into a computer with a camera.
A guy could be walking down the street and the software could actually identify the guy with a very high degree of accuracy.
It is really a boon to law enforcement.
Seems like people with tattoos have to be very secure in who they are. I mean if a design or anything can get your busted more easily in this world then everybody should be given a little ink. Too many people blending in together can look like a dot in a sea of spots.
He'll soon be living on the taxpayers dime for years in the joint-unless he opts for suicide by cop. That would be the best outcome.
