Man with machete steals pepperoni sticks from SE Portland market

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Police say a man with a machete stole candy, frozen pizza and pepperoni sticks from a southeast Portland market.

Sgt. Pete Simpson says the clerk at B & C Foods reported being threatened by the machete-wielding man Saturday morning. Officers checked the neighborhood for a man matching the description of the armed robber, but did not find him.

He's described as a white man in his early 20s who is 5'7'' tall with a thin build. He has light-colored hair and a goatee. Simpson said he was wearing all black clothing and a baseball cap.

The victim was not hurt.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Portland police at 503-823-0405.
