Man with puppy and medical issues goes missing
PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland Police are asking the public to keep an eye out for a missing man who suffers from a number of medical and mental health issues.
Eric Gigliotti, 34, went missing from his residence in the 17700 block of SE Division Street early Saturday morning and has health and mental issues that "could seriously endanger his welfare, if left untreated," police said in a press release.
Gigliotti left the residence voluntarily but police said his conditions make them consider him a "vulnerable adult."
Gigliotti is 5 feet 8 inches tall, 150 pound with wavy, receding dark-colored hair down to his collar. He has brown eyes, a full beard and mustache. He was last known to be wearing a three-quarter length navy wool jacket, a gray "Bigfoot Restaurant" hoodie, jeans and black high-top tennis shoes.
He may be carrying blackback pack and police said he had a small white and tan puppy with him.
Anyone who knows of Gigliotti's whereabouts is asked not to approach him, but to instead immediately call 9-1-1 and report his location.
Anyone with additional, non-emergency information is asked to contact Detective Mike Weinstein, Missing Persons Unit, at 503-823-0446 or Mike.Weinstein@PortlandOregon.gov.
His mom posted on FB that he was found earlier and is on his way home. Thanks for keeping your eyes out for him.Â
Rode the max with this guy for an hour yesterday. Didnt know he was missing until this morning. Ive called the police twice. They have shown no interest. Pathetic
Good thing this guy has a puppy with him, because, sadly, people wouldn't have much concern for him otherwise.
Let's hope that he and the puppy are both found safe.
It's to cold to be out and unprotected.
It's reported that he left home Saturday morning, when his mom says it was actually evening. Here's a link to his myspace, it shows him with facial hair and wearing glasses. http://www.myspace.com/lonewoilf/photos
He left home carrying the dog in a carrier. He likes to hang out downtown at the library, pioneer place, and at Powells Bookstore. As it says his beard is full, and his hair is quite a bit longer. He doesn't drive and usually gets around on Tri-met.Â
I assume that's a state ID photo.. You can see the chaos that resides within. I hope him and his puppy are found safe, soon.
He went missing on Saturday and this news comes out on Thursday??? Â Curious as to why this delay considering how cold it has been and his fragile health. Â Did someone drop the ball on this?
@BCH mom It's because he's a grown adult male - nobody cares about it unless it's a young girl or something who goes missing. It's the sad truth.
@BCH mom The question of whether somebody dropped the ball must consider if an obligation exists to publish these sorts of things in the first place.I'm e-mailing the police right now. If the knees were torn out of his jeans and he owns a long black skateboard, I think I saw him sitting on the sidewalk on 148th between Division and Stark yesterday, about 50 feet from a bus stop (ie, not necessarily waiting for a bus.) It was on the east side, so if he was getting on a bus, it was northbound.
You should probably call the cops.
