Man badly injured in knife fight outside NE Portland tavern
PORTLAND, Ore. - A man was critically wounded in a knife fight early Friday morning.
The incident happened in the parking lot of the Venture Inn, a tavern at Northeast 139th and Sandy Boulevard.
According to police, the victim was fighting with another man sometime before 1 a.m. and shortly thereafter, a 9-1-1 call was placed.
When officers arrived, they found a man on the ground who was bleeding from several stab wounds and the suspect was gone. The victim is now in critical condition at the hospital.
A worker at a nearby convenience store who frequently works the graveyard shift said he was shocked that someone was violently attacked in the area.
The suspect is described as a black male with long, braided hair.
Anyone with information is asked to call Portland detectives at (503) 823-0400.
I was there that night. The perp in the bar & heard someone say "N" word. He confronted her, she told him... I'm bigger than you, not scared, move on. He moved away, but his face showed his anger. I victim was sitting next to him for about 20 minutes and never looked in his direction or exchanged words with him.   Next thing I knew, someone reported a fight in the parking lot. I believeCrazy eyes left to get a knife and use it on the woman in the bar that used the derogatory name. The victim, prob intercepted him on his way out. There was no knife fight, there at the wrong place wrong time. What struck me, I found him in the lot bleeding to death; the Portland Police came within minutes & while I was with the dying man, holding his hand, they only stood around him, doing NOTHING! Shock!  All I could do is hold him and pray.   He's never been to that tavern before.   It's incredible how the media puts their own spin on what really happened that morning. wow.

Most likely this was not a violent attack. It was more likely two people drinking and then fighting one another. Who knows.
Such a nice part if town.

This bar is right across the street from a large number of section 8 housing apartments. The Venture inn get robbed all the time, especially at the end of the month when the food stamp money is gone.

Some people never ever can use verbiage to argue with others. I guess knives have to be outlawed? But then, even TSA will be allowing knoves on flights! Whatever! I will always protect those close to me, whether relatives or friends, from those bottom-feeders that want to attack those I hold dear!

Is that worker from Rockwood? That has to be the only way they could think that the Parkrose area is somehow not a stinking dump filled with all manner of human flotsam and jetsam. It should be more of a surprise when that doesn't happen on a nightly basis!

@Gunzun Roses Yep... now, instead of the dinner knives that they handed out, the bloodthirsty passengers can now go at each other with their pocket scissors.  Maybe it would be better if the staff just handcuffed everybody into their seats.

@NotAChance@Dr. Rawdog I taught stalls, steep turns, S-turns and Turns around a Point over Damascas today, and yesterday I did a scenic flight from Troutdale to Cascade Locks and back, and then flew to Mulino, Aurora and McMinnville.
Another student is on his first solo cross-country today, and tomorrow night I'll be flying between Scapoose and Aurora, right over downtown Portland at either 1,500', or 4000' depending on what PDX assigns us.
Two magnificent flying days in a row. I wonder what "Dr." Rawdog did in the meantime.
The "fake pilot" he's referring to is me because it's this weird bullying thing that he, Sundowner and about three other people have been doing to me since December.Â
Just in case anybody's wondering what that's about. They'll haul out the "Semper Faux" thing here, eventually. I have no idea who these people are.
Quick we had better start registering our knifes and limit the blade length to 1" so you can't hit in deadly organs and also require a background check...

@Dr. Rawdog @FreedomRocks What your outraged when a gun is used on somebody but happy when they are only taken out with a knife and have no similar concerns about limiting this new deadly weapon from the hands of crazy people...tell me it is not so.

DC Banned concealed carry for years until someone sued and it went all the way to the supreme court and about 2 years ago they rules in favor of guns. So ya maybe its so low now because the crooks know everyone could be carrying...
@Jeepers @Playanekes @Dr. Rawdog @FreedomRocks I've never asked black people what they prefer but one time I saw a big black dude with prison tats on the back of his head handling a Mac-10-looking weapon at a gunshow, and the dealer had a huge Confederate flag draped behind him. Weirdest thing. There did not appear to be any animosity or racial discomfort between the two of them.
The women I know shoot AR-15s because of the lack of recoil as opposed to a 30-06 or a 12-ga. I don't have a reason to spend that much money on them and, you know, my other weapons all washed overboard in a boating accident so it's just me and my old Enfield, Springfield and Navy Arms nowadays.Â

@Dr. Rawdog @FreedomRocks The FBI stats do show your 4 times more likely to get shot but not sure if that includes suicides which is about 80% of gun deaths. Given that though knifes are not as insignificant a problem as you make it seem given the famous "IF WE COULD JUST SAVE ON LIFE" liberal line they use on guns...
I was always taught to fear a man with a knife more than a man with a gun. The bullet from the gun has to hit you and hit you in vital spots to kill you. A man with a knife can lay you open from chin to waist, never hit a vital organ and render you dead within minutes. Distance is your friend in either case.

Redmond is a NICE airport but I don't get over on that side of the mountains enough. I fly all over western Oregon and southwest Washington, and do photo and ag-survey flights around Hood, St. Helens and up the coast, pretty much wherever anybody pays me to fly.
Since November I've flown through Idaho, Utah, Nevada, California, Wyoming, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, South Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota and the tip of Kansas.
Today was awesome but there's a lot of agricultural burning in Clackamas County so there was a haze layer at about 2000' and some interesting thunderheads piling up around Hood, Adams and Jefferson. Not a mountain flying day!
@deejm2112 Yeahhhhhh, I can make stuff up to. Did you know for instance that the moon actually has twice the gravity of earth? Nasa has been studying it for 4 years now. It is total BS but I said it was studied for over 4 years, That makes it true. Now back to "studying" global warming.....

The problem is they all believe those bias studies that say banning guns reduces gun deaths. The key there is gun deaths, those studies add in suicides, justified homicide and police shootings into those studies.
They treat every gun death equally bad. If guns were removed and people died in other methods or if they increased that doesnt matter to those studies as long as they didnt occur by guns.
