Medical examiner: Double murder suspect strangled his grandparents

SEATTLE (AP) — The King County sheriff's office in Seattle says the grandparents of a man accused of killing them were strangled.
Sgt. Cindi West says the King County medical examiner's office determined the cause of death for 82-year-old Robert Taylor and 80-year-old Norma Taylor was strangulation.
Authorities have accused 26-year-old Michael Chadd Boysen of killing the couple after they held a party for him Friday to welcome him home from prison.
Boysen was arrested Tuesday after a daylong standoff at a motel in Lincoln City, Ore. He's in a Portland, Ore., hospital with self-inflicted cuts.
West says he's in serious condition and is conscious.
I still want to know when he threatened to kill his family members while in prison, did the peison officials warn his family? He killed his Grandparents the night he got out. I have a hard time believing that if they knew he made these threats, that they would have offered him a room to stay in...
send him to wallawalla they'll give him a greeting he'll never forget for life
may i suggest death by strangling? that might just wipe the smirk off this criminals face for good!
Welcome to the new new.  Because we can't punish animals like this, things will only get worse.  Of course he has mental problems and whether they are caused from drugs, brain injury or whatever else, doesn't justify some shrink getting him off on a mental.  He murdered two people and should face the maximum penalty.   He should go to trial and if found guilty, be executed as soon as possible.  No delays, evaluations, or anything else.  If the shrinks and do-gooders don't like it, then they should volunteer to take his place.  There are  many more of us out there who will volunteer to be the executioner than those who don't believe in capital punishment.
@ShadowWhat are you saying? Â "...we can't punish animals like this"? Â Are you thinking he's going to get off if he's proven guilty? Â Laughing here....he'll be very lucky, VERY lucky, if a district attorney offers him life without parole in lieu of a trial. Â So he'll get punished, don't you worry. Â Who said anything at this point about "some shrink getting him off on a mental"? Â He's obviously screwed-up in the head, but that doesn't absolve someone of murder. Â As for the "be executed as soon as possible", are you oblivious to the US Constitution regarding the appeal rights of someone sentenced to death? Â It's an automatic thing that every death penalty case is automatically appealed unless the convicted person waives that right (like Wesley Alan Dodd did when he opted to be hung). Â So do you have anything else? Â Just frustrated?

@feral ......FOR THIS ,,,,,!??!?!?!
@Rob C 503 Don't, ....I say don't feed thr trollll!!!!!!
Katu - Could you please use his booking photo or some other picture of the one you are using?Â
What a sick sad excuse for a person he is. It is unfortunate that he gets to live when the grandparents don't.
He may not yet have a booking photo in Oregon if he's still in a hospital..
@StealthActivist They would still have his mug shot from the last time is was arrested.
What is it with people killing family members now a days. Or were the grandparents abusive? strangulation makes it personal a crime of passionate hate and anger. question is why did he off them in such a manner? what did they do to deserve this? something isn't right ... Granted murdering ones family is bad enough and I do not support such an act.
But why where they killed?@lee986321Â This probably isn't rocket science. Â He wanted their car and any/all money they had. Â He wasn't exactly playing with a full deck.
@Sundowner @lee986321 ok then he could plead insanity is he wasn't playing with a ful deckÂ
@lalady @lee986321 @Sundowner Lee plays with 3 full decks. and a back up.
@lee986321 @Sundowner who DOES play with a full deck?
@lee986321 @Sundowner Who doesn't play with a full deck?
Great, now the tax payers are spending a bundle on this screwed up dirtbag, trying to save him. RIP, grandparents.Â
Why do we need to know how they died? Let them rest. KATU so many times you take things to far and show no class at all.
Reminds me on the song Dirty laundry by Don Henley.
@Pvpbw So that way the idiots that want to ban guns realize criminals kill by any means necessary not just firearms.
@Azacabazle @Pvpbw By that logic, nobody needs to own a gun, because they can just use other means to defend themselves. You are making the anti-gun lobby's argument for them, and don't even realize it. That whooshing sound? It's this post going right over your head.
@Azacabazle @Pvpbw @Dr. Rawdog Thanks for pointing that out -- I'll bet those "idiots" had no idea.  Boy, THEY sure are idiots, aren't they?
Exactly. I wish all their stories were "A man was killed, but we don't think you need to know how"
@Oregon7812Â Well, I guess it just seems so disrespectful when I read it, His own Grandparents. I just can't imagin. I would love to still have my Grandparents
@Dr. Rawdog @Pvpbw Does Grandma bake and Grandpa fish?
That would take some cold blood, and nuts of steel to strangle both grandparents, I hope they both put up a fight, and that the mark on the eye is from them defending themselves.
Sheesh, whatta smug bastard.
This is truly incomprehensible !

It takes a truly demented person to take that route for killing your own grandparents.
I hope you meant "depraved" rather than "demented," as this guy appears to be in touch with reality and appears to know right from wrong. His grandparents may well have suffered from some degree of dementia, but that couldn't have provoked what happened to them. Â
@StealthActivist Depraved is a better word. I was looking for "insane" and not "suffering from dementia", depraved avoids the confusion.
@JTesla not that it warrants murder, but how do we know the grandparents weren't also demented?
@lalady Troll...
you can't call someone a "troll" just because you feel differently than them.
@washcomom @lalady are you calling me a troll? is my thought less valid than anyone else's? my point was just what some others have said... we don't know about the relationship there. is this not a forum to voice our thoughts, washcomom? it seems like you do it readily.
@lalady Those who are simply subjected to demented parents or grandparents usually find a quicker and less personal solution, be it with a gun, knife, or axe.
Chilling.Â
