SEAL ROCK, Ore. - A human body found in the surf Wednesday morning is a missing Newport man, Oregon State Police said.

Another man remains jailed on manslaughter charges in connection with the death.

The body of Michael Lanpheare was found around 9 a.m. along the surf line of the beach in the Lost Creek area, about 5 miles north of Seal Rock.

An autopsy to determine manner and cause of death is expected to be completed this week.

The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office last week arrested Donald Richard Lawyer III, 35, of Pennsylvania on supsicion of manslaughter in connection with Lanpheare's death.

Deputies found Lawyer naked and bloody along Highway 101 near Seal Rock on April 2.
