Motorcyclist dies in collision with car and truck

VANCOUVER, Wash. -- One man died after a car, truck and motorcycle collided Monday afternoon on Northeast Padden Parkway in the Orchards area northeast of Vancouver.

The motorcyclist, 54-year-old James Luden of Vancouver, died before emergency crews arrived, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said Luden was waiting for a left turn signal to go from Padden Parkway to Northeast 94th Avenue when his motorcycle was hit from behind by a car driven by Tanya Leffler, 34. The impact forced Luden into the pickup truck in front of him.

Leffler suffered minor injuries. She was released from the hospital.

The pickup truck driver was not hurt.

Dispatchers first received emergency calls just before 4 p.m. Padden Parkway was closed between 94th Avenue and State Route 503 for several hours after that.
