NWS issues high-wind advisory for Portland area until 7 p.m.

PORTLAND, Ore. – Wind gusts in the Portland area could reach up to 45 mph Tuesday evening, according to the National Weather Service.

NWS has issued a wind advisory until 7 p.m. that includes Hillsboro, Oregon City, Gresham, Troutdale, Salem and McMinnville.

Southwest Washington isn’t immune from the wind, either. The advisory also affects Vancouver, Battle Ground, Camas and Washougal.

NWS warns to watch out for falling tree limbs and branches. Power outages should also be expected.

"This is just one of a series of waves that's going to visit us over the next several days," said KATU Meteorologist Nick O'Kelly.
