Public invited to opening of new wing at Oregon State Hospital
SALEM, Ore. - The Oregon State Hospital has a new patient living and treatment wing and they're inviting folks to come on down and check it out.
An open house will be held on Friday, March 2 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Visitors can either take a self-guided or guided tour.
The new wing will house two treatment programs - Bridges (a transition program for patients nearing the point where they no longer need care) and Springs (a program that serves civilly-committed patients who require care for dementia, brain injury or mental illness).
Hospital staff will be on hand to answer questions.To ensure the safety of staff and patients, the hospital is asking visitors to not bring bags or purses on the tour.
Directions from I-5
- Take Market Street exit (256), head west
- Take the first left onto Hawthorne Avenue N.E.
- Take the second right onto Center Street N.E.
- Turn left on Recovery Way and follow to parking lot
- Head west on Center Street N.E.
- Turn right on Recovery Way and follow to parking lot
- Follow the posted signs to the designated parking area and to access the hospital
