Man dies in Oak Grove house fire

OAK GROVE, Ore. – An elderly man died in a house fire in Oak Grove early Sunday morning, firefighters said.
Clackamas Fire spokesman Brandon Paxton said 76-year-old Eric Youngfellow died in the fire. His body was found in the debris at around 1 p.m., investigators said.
The fire started just after 3 a.m. at a home located at 5135 SE El Centro Way. A broken gas line fueled the flames, firefighters said.
It's unclear what started the fire.
The home was in the process of being remodeled and there were large amounts of household products stacked throughout the home, which also fueled the fire. It took crews over two hours to control the fire and put it out, firefighters said.
One firefighter was injured in a fall and taken to a hospital, but later released.
The house was a total loss.
How sad. Condolences to the man's family and friends.
Hope the homeowner had all the proper permits for the remodel since insurance won't cover it if not.
Well, if the homeowner is the same as the deceased, I kind of doubt it matters. And frankly, I'm not sure that statement was very much appropriate when someone died in the fire.
