Officers: 6 guns, meth and marijuana seized from boy, 17

PORTLAND, Ore. - Six firearms, including a double-barreled shotgun, methamphetamine, marijuana, cocaine and ammunition were seized from a 17-year-old Portland boy, police said.
Police discovered all the items after responding to a disturbance at the boy’s house in North Portland on Sunday. The boy was apparently arguing with his mother about one of his firearms, according to a police spokesman.
Police said they are investigating how the teenager obtained the guns, but believe the firearms were stolen.
After searching the home in the 9500 block of Northe Fiske Avenue, officers arrested the 17-year-old on suspicion of six counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, four counts of first-degree theft, distribution and possession of marijuana and methamphetamine and possession of cocaine.
In addition to the double-barreled shotgun, police said they recovered a pistol-grip shotun, a 9-mm Mac-10 and three .45-caliber handguns.
I was wondering that too. May be this guy was an accomplice???
Who wants to bet this is the Clackamas town shooter?
It's good that they busted him before he killed anyone. I wonder if he tried to get his girlfriend hooked on meth yet?
Pretty cruel to take away the toys of a kid who only has 5 years left in his life.
Tighter gun control would do a lot of good.  lol.  None of these guns were purchased with background checks. Gun control only controls guns bought by law abiding people.Â
Gotta love the "Jason" hockey mask that was uncovered during this "disturbance". Wonder what he used that for?Â
Â
(Psst...KATU: Please edit:Â Northe Fiske Avenue to North Fiske Avenue. Thanks!)
Gangsta life... The life of a gang banger..... nothing new. My bet is his pals won't be forgiving.... short life span.
Wow!!! 17 where the parents aware of what there child was doing? Try him as an adult for sure!!
Â
@robtan Of course. Try him as an adult. Because he is one, right?  How the heck do you know if that kid is even capable of reasonable thought?  He could be a blithering idiot that is incapable of rational thought, yet, "Try him as an adult" is all you can say.  What if he is psychologically 12? Or worse? Stop knee-jerking and THINK!  Maybe he is and maybe he isn't. Find out before you decide his fate!
Hey, at least he's using a paper grocery bag. And isn't that really what's most important?
Thank god he wasn't cavorting with 31 year old models otherwise he'd have his innocence corrupted!
This boy is so young to be on such a bad path in life. If he's decided to participate in "adult" activities, then he needs to be treated as such and given adult consequences. Kudos to the police in how they handled the arrest and that no one was hurt.  That's a lot of weapons and drugs in the hands of a 17 year old.
@DeaconBugg Please refrain from anymore stupid comments.
@Reeldeal101 I'll try, but I can't make any promises. The cool thing of being able to post about these articles is that we can freely express our opinions. I've enjoyed some good debates with others and have learned from the differences of opinions. When it's done respectfully, it's always enjoyable. However, when there are posts that express an unexplained anger, or worse, are insulting others without premise or justification, then it simply defeats the entire purpose of trying to engage one another in a constructive manner.
I want names...this is a Measure 11 crime...should be tried as an adult...I want names.
@Dwain Purkerson Um, No these are not M11 crimes, and you have no idea who this kid is, so stop judging him as an adult.  Unless of course you happen to be the kids psychiatrist and didn't say so....which I doubt.  Ensure that brain is in gear before engaging vocal chords may be a good practice here....
@Dwain Purkerson You are not to bright.  None of the charges are Measure 11.  Look before opening your mouth.  http://www.crimevictimsunited.org/measure11/measure11sentences.htm
@RandyH You're not TOO bright yourself.
Bombs, knives & guns with real bullets.
Â
One too many Rambo movies..
A 17 year old in possession of six firearms, including a double-barreled shotgun, methamphetamine, marijuana, cocaine and ammunition is NOT a 'boy'. A 'boy' is a little kid. This individual is old enough to know what he is doing and old enough to be charged/tried/punished as an adult. Period!
@oh4FS I agree. I wish people would use the term "minor". Just because someone is under 18 that doesn't mean s/he is a child.
Amazing that this didn't end worse than it did. Thank you PP for bringing him in, safely. Sure hope the argument with mom was over her total shock that he had a gun.
If it turns out he's the Clackamas Town Center shooter, it did turn out worse.
Just think if guns were made illegal. I'm sure this Young adult would never have gotten his hands on them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(Sarcasm)
@Fuelman76 Just think if our legal system really wanted to solve gun crimes. Pretty simple just make mandatory minimums that are extremely harsh for and crimes committed that involve a gun including stealing of them. Steal a gun and get caught with it 10 years minimum. Sell a stolen gun and get caught 20 years minimum. Use a gun in a crime automatic addition of 20 years to what every sentence you receive for the crime.
Â
Then we would hear all the whining by the liberals about how mean and unfair we are being to those poor nice young boys. You just can't win with liberals because they live in a dream land void of most reality...
@FreedomRocks  @Fuelman76 It doesn't matter. People are going to commit crimes despite the penalty. The death penalty hasn't dissuaded anyone from committing murder.
@Jamie  @Fuelman76 That is your opinion but I am sure you can't point me to any factual backup. I have heard of studies that say for even one killed 6-8 people are saved. Some of that is because they can get back out to do it again unless dead.
@Fuelman76 If they were under better control, possibly not. They don't have this kind of BS in civilized countries.
@Mechanic Australia's violent (gun) crimes have tripled since they outlawed guns, In England, if you try to defend yourself with a gun, you will go to prison for life. How's that for fair way to do business. I'll take the right to defend myself with a gun anytime. l if you like "civilized" countries so much...move to England or Australia....
@flyingtime wish we could still give thumbs up, yours deserves a hundred, flyingtime!
@Mechanic  @Fuelman76 Ya really say like in England where you just can't get or own a gun as a citizen? Try again with the liberal propaganda but the crooks will always have guns even when taken away from the rest of us...

@Mechanic  @Fuelman76 In case you don't bother to read it gun crimes up 35% this year in England where only the criminals are armed and no one has the right to defend themselves.
Oh yes this is why we need to pay sales taxes to fund the schools so they can churn out more stunningly bright kids like this one. Â =D
Â
Seriously though, if that were my kid, getting caught by the police would be the least of his worries.
Arguing with Mom about an illegal gun....and there's the inherent problem. If it was my kid I'd be hauling them down to the station but I'm thinking Mom might have just been admiring her "young little entrepreneur"....(but I must commend him for being an over achiever...yikes)
.
This kid was pretty well stocked up for the Zombie Apocalypse.Â
Â
Eventually, somebody will use that as a defense for criminal behavior because the Government has been encouraging ZA preparation.
@Icarus No kidding. There's even a one stop shopping bag on hand.
Try him as an adult and put him in prison, not wussy out and put him in juvie until he's 21-- in PRISON until he dies (*if convicted*, that is)!
@Gravity Works! Prison until he dies? For which crime, exactly?
Looks pretty un-Allegedly to me. You guys keep calling them Boys and you will lose all your liberal cred... and I hated to be called Boy in 1963 and I am White...
