Police investigate deadly shooting in SE Portland
PORTLAND, Ore. – Police are investigating a deadly shooting in Southeast Portland early Saturday morning.
Police said they responded to a report of a shooting near Southeast 82nd Avenue and Flavel Street just after 1 a.m.
Officers found 30-year-old Lloyd Raymond Frach III dead when they arrived.
Police interviewed 21-year-old JC Jarell Brister in connection with the case. Brister was arrested on one count of unlawful possession of a firearm. He does not face any other charges, police said.
"Detectives determined this is the appropriate charge given the evidence gathered," said Portland Police spokesman Robert King.
If Brister was the shooter/killer, then it sure sounds as if this was a justifiable shooting (e.g. self defense), if the police aren't charging him w/anything other than the unlawful gun possession.Â

I agree with Lostboyscout when he says the City Council and Mayor keep a tight lip when it comes to all of the violence happening everyday in our city. This is not a concern to them as they have no answers other than more sidewalks and bike lanes might cure the problem. The only time they step up in front of the TV is if they are defending some agenda that is supported by large unions and organizations that promise to throw votes and money towards their parties.
Still lots of good people in that part of town. If you consider 5 a large number.

Why is it that when someone of a protected group [gay for example] gets assaulted or gets called names, our mayor Sam Adams is all over it. Big headlines, lots of police and lawyers and everyone gets their you-know-whats in  a bind. But if one of us regular folks gets murdered, Adams is nowhere to be found? How about if Adams hold a press conference every time there is a killing in the city that he was hired to represent, and tell us how his liberal ideological policies have improved all of our lives.

He had a good warm heart and probably would have helped you, even being a stranger, if some situation had crossed your two paths and the waste of energy, dirt and water that you are needed assistance. Not sure about all those comments but Murder is murder and should be tried as murder or at least considered until proven not to be murder. I know the victoms family but am not close like his sister up there. If was my brother though andthe law said oh no bg deal, trust me I be tracking that indivdual down and that is why the law must do its job to keep the peace. I say do not be quiet, make yourselves heard, stop this violence. If you remain quiet there will always be this pain and bloodshed and maybe you be the next victom. Step up and do something.
 @Jamie  @HeatherMarie It is sad even if the victim is a gang member.  Why?  Because we have a young (assumedly) life wasted and those who loved him have lost someone dear to them.  I won't get into the eternal aspects of death because, regardless of if I am right, not everyone believes as I do so will discount that argument.
