PORTLAND, Ore. – A state contractor plans to be out repairing pavement on the I-84/I-205 interchange next week, which will cause several overnight ramp closures.
The schedule could change based on weather and progress of the work, but here’s the plan so far:
Monday, April 1 and Tuesday, April 2 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.:
Only one ramp will close at a time and drivers will be directed on a detour.
- I-84 westbound to I-205 southbound ramp will close
Detour: take the I-205 northbound off-ramp to the Sandy Boulevard off-ramp (exit 23A); merge into the left eastbound lane on Sandy; turn left on U.S. 30 (Killingsworth Avenue); turn left onto the on-ramp to I-205 south.
- I-84 eastbound to I-205 southbound ramp will close
Detour: take the I-205 southbound off-ramp (exit 6) and head toward Glisan Street; cross Glisan Street to the on-ramp to I-205 south.
- I-205 southbound Division Street on-ramp will close
Detour: continue along the I-205 frontage road to U.S. 26 (SE Powell Boulevard); turn right onto westbound Powell Boulevard; turn left onto southbound 92nd Avenue; turn left onto eastbound Foster Road to the I-205 southbound on-ramp.
Wednesday, April 3 through Friday, April 5 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
The contractor will close one lane of I-205 southbound to work at three locations between the Abernethy Bridge and Borland Road.
Travelers should watch for crews working in the roadway and slow down in the work zone.
