Police investigate a crash that killed on woman at Northeast 117th Avenue and Glisan Street on Tuesday afternoon.

PORTLAND, Ore. – Police have identified the woman who was hit and killed by a car in Northeast Portland on Tuesday afternoon.

Police said 59-year-old ViJay Dalton-Gibson was hit at Northeast 117th Avenue and Glisan Street just after 3 p.m.

Police said she was crossing the street in a crosswalk while walking her dog when she was hit.

The driver was identified as 80-year-old JeanAnn Thompson. Police said no citations have been issued and that the investigation is continuing.

Neighbors said Dalton-Gibson lived nearby, and they have taken in her dog and are holding onto it for now.

Thompson stayed at the scene of the crash, and police said she cooperated. They said there was no evidence that she was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
