Plug that meter: Parking tickets going up $5 on Jan. 2
PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland's Bureau of Transportation has announced it will raise the fine for parking tickets by $5 on Jan. 2. And that’s not the only fine that will increase.
The Oregonian reports the cost of a basic parking ticket will jump from $34 to $39.
The increase, along with a new $140 fine for expired tags older than three months, will add about $475,000 per year to the transportation bureau's parking ticket revenue.
