Police: 6 injured in head-on crash near Astoria

ASTORIA, Ore. (AP) — Oregon State Police say four adults and two children were injured and State Highway 30 was temporarily closed about 10 miles east of Astoria after a head-on crash.

Lt. Gregg Hastings says a westbound pickup driven by a 70-year-old woman crossed the centerline and collided with a car carrying three adults and two children late Thursday afternoon.

The pickup driver was ejected and seriously injured. She was flown to a Portland hospital.

Hastings says the car's 24-year-old male driver was also seriously hurt. The other two adults and the children received minor injuries.

Traffic was detoured around the crash.
