Police: Ex-treasurer for youth football league embezzled $23K

SANDY, Ore. – The former treasurer for the Sandy Youth Football League has been arrested on suspicion of embezzling more than $23,000 during her year-and-a-half tenure.

Susan M. Farness, 42, turned herself in at the Clackamas County Jail last Thursday. She was indicted on nine counts of first-degree theft, five counts of second-degree theft and 28 counts of identity theft. Farness was released from jail after posting bail.

Farness is accused of stealing the money while serving as treasurer for the youth football league between January 2011 and July 2012.

Sandy police investigators did not say how Farness allegedly embezzled the money, nor offer any other details of the investigation.
