PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland police on Wednesday arrested a man who they said stabbed a 13-year-old girl last month.
Maximilliano Rigo Resendiz-Thompson, 20, stabbed the girl during a scuffle at a party on May 25, police said. The girl’s injuries were not life-threatening.
Police began investigating after the girl showed up at a Portland hospital with a stab wound. She told police she was punched in the face and stabbed in the back by a man at a party.
Investigators from the Gang Enforcement Team arrested Resendiz-Thompson at his Gresham home on Wednesday. Police say he is a known gang member.
Resendiz-Thompson faces charges of assault in the second degree and unlawful use of a weapon.
