PORTLAND, Ore. – A 19-year-old man was shot and killed in Southeast Portland on Tuesday night, police said.
Officers arrived near Southeast 57th Avenue and Harold Street and found Paul William Krekeler dead on the ground just before 11 p.m.
Neighbors said they heard several gunshots. Krekeler ran northbound on 57th Avenue until he collapsed in a yard, according to detectives.
Witnesses said they saw a white SUV leaving the area after shots were fired. Police say they have not confirmed that vehicle is related to the shooting.
Police do not have a motive for the shooting at this time.
The State Medical Examiner performed an autopsy on Wednesday and determined Krekeler died of a gunshot wound to the chest.

Police said the homicide was the 16th this year.
