Police: Man calls 911 to report poisoning, attacks officers
PORTLAND, Ore. – A man attacked Portland police officers Wednesday morning after calling 9-1-1 to report he’d been poisoned, police said.
Police responded to a call from Heavenly Donuts at 504 NE 102nd Avenue just before 8:30 a.m.
The man told a 9-1-1 operator he’d been poisoned and hung up the phone, police said.
Officers arrived and started escorting the man to an ambulance to take him to the hospital. Police said without warning, the man began violently attacking officers.
It took several officers to get the man on the ground and hold him down. Police loaded him onto a gurney.
No officers were hurt during the attack.
The man, who has not been identified, was taken to a hospital to treat a possible drug overdose.
Police said he may have been high on methamphetamine.
I think he was distraught knowing we have four more years of Obama.Â
