Police: Man robbed by three suspects on MAX train

PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland police are looking for three suspects after they said a man was assaulted and robbed on a MAX train Wednesday morning.

In a press release, police said they met with the victim at the Portland State University MAX station at 6 a.m. but that the incident took place earlier near the Rose Quarter.

Police said the victim was on the MAX train near the Rose Quarter when three African-American men knocked him down, assaulted him and took items out of his backpack.

Police described one suspect as an African-American male in his mid-20s with some facial hair. He was last seen wearing a dark blue “FUBU-style” thick winter ski jacket, dark blue pants with a white embroidered tribal design on the front and a dark blue beanie.

Another suspect was described as a African-American male in his 30s with a dark-colored baseball hat, a white sweater and dark jeans. A description of the third suspect was not included in the press release.

Police said no arrests have been made and no weapons were seen.  The victim did not require medical attention and the investigation is ongoing.
