PORTLAND, Ore. – Police are looking for a man who they believe robbed two Portland restaurants at gunpoint early Saturday morning.
A man armed with a shotgun walked into Charlie’s Teriyaki at 14800 SE Powell Blvd and robbed the restaurant around 12:15 a.m., according to Sgt. Pete Simpson. He got away with an undisclosed amount of cash and was last seen walking westbound on 148th Avenue.
At 1:15 a.m., officers were called to Fire Escape Bar and Grill at 9004 NE Sandy Blvd. after a report of an armed robbery. Employees told police the suspect was armed with a shotgun and his description matched the suspect in the earlier robbery.
The suspect was described as a black man in his mid-30s who is six feet tall with a medium build. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, possibly a long coat and blue jeans. He had facial hair and some kind of covering on his face, Simpson said.
