Police: Man was trafficking medications, cocaine in Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Portland Police have charged a 28-year-old man for trafficking prescription medications and cocaine in Portland.
Christopher Yoshio Schmidt has been charged with multiple drug counts after a search warrant was served at his home in Southeast Portland.
On Wednesday, North Precinct Neighborhood Response Team (NRT) investigators served a search warrant at an apartment in the 3300 block of Southeast Morrison Street. Investigators learned Schmidt had been trafficking prescription medications and cocaine into North Precinct.
During the search warrant, investigators seized $2,798 in cash, Oxycodone, ecstasy, dozens of miscellaneous prescription pills, hash and cocaine. Also seized were four hand guns and a shotgun.
Schmidt had multiple prescriptions made out to himself from multiple doctors that had been filled at numerous pharmacies.
Police are continuing their investigation.
It's interesting KATU to watch for new stories and only find some of them weeks later and wonder how the heck did I miss that story.
