PORTLAND, Ore. – Police arrested a woman who they said cut another woman with a razor blade after their Easter Sunday church service in Southeast Portland.

Officers arrested Naomi Etta Perkins, 30, for assault in the third degree.

Police responded to a fight at Oliver Elementary School in Southeast Portland, where the Life Restoration Church holds its services, at around 2:45 p.m.

Officers found the victim, 32-year-old Anjeanette Marie Brown, with a large cut on one of her arms. Police said she was also missing one of her weaved hair braids.

According to police, Brown and Perkins got into a physical fight over a man and Perkins used a razor blade to cut off one of Brown’s braids. As the fight continued, Perkins cut Brown’s arm and caused a “significant injury”, police said.

Police took Perkins to the Multnomah County Jail.

Medics took Brown to a Portland hospital. Police said the injury was not life-threatening.

Detectives believe some witnesses may have left the church without speaking with police. They’re asking anyone with information about the fight to contact Detective Jeff Sharp at (503) 823-9773.
