3 arrested, including suspected panty thief, after burglary
GRESHAM, Ore. – Gresham Police on Friday arrested three burglary suspects, including one accused of breaking into multiple homes to steal women’s underwear.
Someone called police on Friday afternoon to report seeing three men trying to open doors in their neighborhood. Officers arrived to see the three men leaving a house they had just burglarized in the 2900 block of Southeast Vista Way, police said.
The men ran away, but police caught 21-year-old Calvin Shadley and 19-year-old Austin Allen.
Detectives identified Adam Nichols, 19, as the third suspect and took him into custody about a mile away from his home later Friday.
Detectives believe the three men are responsible for more burglaries, including two in Portland’s West hills. They also believe Shadley is responsible for several burglaries in East Multnomah County where he broke into homes to steal women’s underwear.
Anyone who believes women's underwear was stolen during a burglary at their home is asked to call Gresham Police.
Detectives also recovered a microwave, iHome portable speaker system and a 35mm Pentax K-1000 camera that they believe were stolen from a home in Portland’s West hills. They hope to speak with the owner of these items. (Click on the photo gallery to view larger photos of the stolen items)
Calvin Shadley faces 10 counts of burglary, two counts of attempted burglary and one count of theft.
Nichols and Allen each face two counts of attempted burglary, one count of burglary and one count of theft.

These three are real good examples of our present society! Whatever they want, they will get, at everyone else's expense. Since they got caught this time, I wonder how many other recent crimes they are responsible for?

@washcomom  I don't understand it, either, but from what I've heard, panty thieves don't want 'em fresh out of the package or laundry. They want them used. Â

@TheUglyTruth I have an SLR 35mm camera that I've been offered $1500 for. It was new in the '70's. There are collectors out there who will collect anything, and pay premium prices for as-new.
