Police arrest armed robbery suspects in SE Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. – Police arrested two men who they said robbed a Portland bar early Saturday morning.
Officers responded to a robbery call from Gator’s Bar & Grill at 6605 SE Powell Blvd. at around 1:45 a.m.
Witnesses told police that both men were armed during the robbery.
Police said the first officers who arrived saw two black men run from the bar to a car and drive away. Officers followed the car until it crashed into a parked car near Southeast 52nd Avenue and Taylor Street.
The two suspects ran from the car, police said. Officers caught one of the suspects almost immediately and took him into custody.
Police identified the suspect as 29-year-old Antwaun Leshawn Spencer. He faces charges of robbery, attempt to elude in a vehicle, reckless driving, failure to perform the duties of a driver and driving with a suspended license.
The second suspect, who has not been identified, ran into the neighborhood. A police K-9 unit tracked the suspect to a mud room attached to a home in the 1200 block of Southeast 52st Avenue.
The suspect barricaded himself inside the room. Police called the Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT) and a Crisis Negotiation team to the home.
The suspect started yelling that he’d been shot in the leg, police said. He surrendered to police and was taken to a Portland hospital with a gunshot wound.
Police said the suspect possibly shot himself in the leg.
No one was hurt during the robbery.
But a job, no matter how good it's paying gives you any "Street Creed". Now 20 years in prison, that will give you "Street Creed". Too bad they'll only get 6 or 7 years....
Isn't a job easier than all this ? What fools..
These idiots crashed their car only a few blocks from my house. Very glad we have an alarm system. This is probably the safest neighborhood in SE Portland, and it gets less safe every year. =(
Okay, K2 . . . please tell us all exactly what a "Southeast 52st Avenue" is. Would that be pronounced, "Fiftytoost Avenue" or what?
Hah! Idiot shot himself in the leg, maybe he'll think about that next time he thinks about doing a robbery. Somehow I doubt it though.
South East. The new North East.
Great that they caught them quickly, and that the only injury was to one of the suspects, apparently self-inflicted. Good job, PPB!
Todays idiot award goes to......
