Police catch burglary suspect after gas station break-in

TIGARD, Ore. – Police arrested a burglary suspect who they said broke into a Tigard gas station early Thursday morning.

Officers who responded to a reported break-in at the Union 76 gas station on SW Pacific Highway saw a man inside when they arrived, according to police spokesman Jim Wolf.

The man ran from the gas station and two officers fell down during the foot chase. They were taken to a hospital as a precaution, but they were not seriously hurt, police said.

Beaverton officers later brought in a police dog, which found the suspect hiding in some bushes.

Police took him into custody. His name has not been released.
