Baby in need of medical help found safe
PORTLAND, Ore. - A mother and baby that police had been looking for because they felt the infant was endangered were found Friday evening.
Portland police and their Child Abuse Team had asked the public to be on the lookout for a 7-month-old baby who might have been suffering from a serious medical problem.
The baby, Amirah Conteh, was believed to be with her mother, 20-year-old Musu Conteh, in North or Northeast Portland.
Police say media exposure helped them track the pair down. Someone called the Department of Human Services hotline and gave them information about the whereabouts of the mother and child.
Police and medical personnel responded and the baby was given medical attention for the unspecified health issue.
Police did not release any further information.
I think what we are witnessing is with all the crap were putting into the air, water  and foods we all are becoming sicker.
The police FELT the baby was not safe or they THOUGHT that? It sounds like they must be psychics if they are "feeling" whether a baby is safe or not. K2 please utilize your editorial resources to the fullest.
It seems like almost every missing person these days, "needs medical attention," or, " requires medication," or something similar. Is the assumption that noboby will care otherwise?
Nah, it just means everyone is on drugs.
Drugs is a factor, but not just street drugs. Look at the growing numbers of the population with problems like diabetes, schizophrenia, Alzheimer's, and whatnot. Some of these people will be on medication for their problems, but many others won't.  When somebody with a major medical problem is missing, then it becomes even more important that the public know what is happening.
That has to be the oldest looking 7 month old I have ever seen. Man they are growing up fast?
How about LETTING the mother take her baby to the doctor's office WITHOUT A SWAT TEAM AIMING THEIR WEAPONS AT HER?
@August100 That I would agree with, if she was making those decisions. But then again maybe she is afraid of getting kicked off the bus for a sick child? You know how The transit system is down there when it comes to sick babies..Â
