Police ask for help finding missing man

PORTLAND, Ore. – Police are asking for the public’s help finding a missing man who they said has not been seen since Saturday and may be suffering from a mental health crisis.
Matthew Robert McConnell-Hegland was last seen by friends at 1:30 a.m. on Dec. 22. His family told KATU that he was sleeping on a friend’s couch.
He’s described as a white man who is 6’ tall and weighs 180 pounds. He has brown hair, hazel eyes and light facial hair. He was wearing beige pants, a green polo short and a black jacket, police said.
Detectives are concerned that he may be suffering from a mental health crisis.
Anyone who sees McConnell-Hegland is asked to call 911.
Oh dear. This doesn't sound good. I hope he is found alive and safe.Â
Hope he is found "Safe" this Christmas...........Â
oh, don't worry too much, he's only white and male. Â We don't count that much these days anyway
@archon312 Everybody, even you, count to somebody. And, obviously, this guy counts to his family and friends.
 @archon312 off topic much?
There is such irony in this. I'm sure seeing his face everywhere with "possible mental health crisis" next to it won't help any "mental health crisis" he's having. On the other hand, they need to find him. I wish him well, and hope he is found soon, safe and sound.
Strange that the KGW from yesterday has slightly different info - has the friends' story changed, or has the family learned more, or what?
I hope he turns up safe today.
Â
@starshadow Can you fill us in on the discrepancies? I can't find the story on the KGW site. Thank you.
Um...hey KATU:Â "beige pants, a green polo short and a black jacket"
Â
Green polo short?
@Mikey  Words aren't important when you are trying to tell a story. Well, at least not to "professional" journalists...
@HenryBowman It seems like that sometimes, Henry.
O my gosh! I know Matt. He's a wonderful young man. I hope he's found safe and sound.
Please let him be found ok. And please, don't let him be armed.
