Police say the mother of a baby boy says he was murdered at the Budget Inn and then was dumped in a park.

GLADSTONE, Ore. – Police found a baby boy dead, and not in a dumpster nor at the Budget Inn Motel as originally reported.

He is believed to be five months old.

A tipster called police reporting the possible murder of a baby. Officers found the baby's body late last night.

Law enforcement is being unusually secretive. Gladstone police is in charge of the investigation and they'll only say a baby has been found dead.

Guests at the Budget Inn Motel said the baby was found in a dumpster, but the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office says the child was not found in a dumpster.

What is known is at one point that baby was staying here in one of those hotel rooms.

Police have said little about the case and their investigation is ongoing. Gladstone Police said they received a tip at 5 p.m. Monday about a baby "being murdered in our city."

According to witnesses, two adults and a baby moved into a motel room last week.

Staff at the Budget Inn confirmed a woman checked into Room 226 on Monday, Dec. 2, and checked out on Dec. 7.

The motel would not release the woman's name and guests did not know it.

Lynette Bryce rents a room down the hall. She says the woman looked around 30 years old and the man seemed to be 45 or 50.

Some guests claimed police officers told them they had arrested the woman, but the Clackamas County District Attorney's office denies it.

"Nobody is in jail. Nobody is in custody," said Greg Horner with the DA's office.

No law enforcement agencies would elaborate on the status of the investigation, the identities of the man or woman, or who called them with the initial tip.
