VANCOUVER, Wash. – Police found a car that they said was stolen during a kidnapping and attempted murder last week in Vancouver.
Police arrested one of the suspects on Friday after a standoff with a SWAT team at a Vancouver apartment. Joanna Speaks appeared in court Monday on charges of attempted murder, robbery and kidnapping.
Police are still looking for a second suspect: 19-year-old Pedro Godinez, Jr., also known as “Junior.”
The pair is accused of kidnapping, robbing and shooting an unidentified Oregon man before leaving him for dead and stealing his car on Nov. 28. The victim survived the shooting. Police said he walked about a mile through a wildlife recreation area before finding a group of houseboats and getting help.
Tuesday, Vancouver police found the victim’s 2012 Nissan Sentra in a parking lot between a Motel 6 and Extended Stay motel in the 200 block of NE Chkalov Drive. The car was empty.
Police did not release any other details.
Police said Godinez (right) is a Hispanic man who is 5’10’’ tall and weighs about 220 pounds. He has black, closely shaved hair and brown eyes.
Anyone who sees him is asked to call 9-1-1.
