Police: Man shoots roommate in leg during argument

PORTLAND, Ore. – Police arrested a 41-year-old man who they said shot his roommate during an argument in Northeast Portland early Monday.

The victim, 42-year-old Jason Jacoby, showed up at Portland Adventist hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg.

Officers responded to a home located at 3347 N.E. 127th Avenue and detained several people for questioning, according to Portland police spokesman Greg Stewart.

Police later took a suspect, 41-year-old Nathan Newitt, into custody.

Jacoby's injuries were not life-threatening, police said.

Newitt faces charges of assault in the second degree and unlawful use of a weapon.
