Police investigating drive-by shooting near University Park

PORTLAND, Ore. – Police are investigating a drive-by shooting Tuesday night in North Portland that injured one person.

According to police, the shooting happened at about 9:30 p.m. near North Foss Avenue and Houghton Street near University Park.

The shooting injured 18-year-old Oscar Alvarez-Ramirez. He remained hospitalized Wednesday with injuries that didn't appear to be life-threatening.

They found Alvarez-Ramirez by the bus stop at North Alaska Street and Chautauqua Boulevard on the other side of the park.

The gang enforcement team was on scene to investigate whether it was a gang-related shooting.
