Police say shooting victim at strip club is a gang member

TROUTDALE, Ore. – A man who was shot and seriously injured during a shooting early Friday morning is a well-known gang member, Portland police said.

Damariea Ramone Harris, 21, is in serious condition at a hospital in Portland after he was shot in the face.

Portland police say he is a Crip gang member.

Police responded to reports of a shooting at a strip club, the Pitiful Princess at 12646 Southeast Division, just before 1 a.m. They couldn't find whoever was shot but soon after Troutdale police pulled over a car at a Safeway on Cherry Park Road in Troutdale.

They arrested the driver, 19-year-old Torrance Alexander Hunter, on a parole violation and took him to jail in Multnomah County. Investigators believe the traffic stop and the shooting are related.

Sgt. Pete Simpson, spokesman for the Portland Police Bureau, said Harris was at the Safeway and got into a taxi cab, which took him to the hospital.

Anyone who has information about the shooting is asked to contact Detective Mitch Hergert at (503) 823-2081 or mitchell.hergert@portlandoregon.gov.
