PORTLAND, Ore. – A woman's body was found Tuesday afternoon and Portland police are investigating how she died.
Her body was found at an apartment complex in the 1400 block of Southeast Belmont Street at about 2 p.m.
A neighbor across the hall told KATU News that he told Belmont Court management on Saturday about a "dead body smell" coming from the woman's unit but that management didn't immediately act. It was not until Tuesday that police were called.
The neighbor said he hadn't seen her for a month and that she was 33 years old. He knew her for about a year.
Other neighbors said the woman was nice and was seen walking her dog every once in a while.
The Portland Police Bureau's Mobile Crime Command Center was at the scene.
KATU News reporter Emily Sinovic contributed to this report.
Nothing quite lie the smell of a decomposing body . . .
dear me. I remember seeing a photo of a woman whose dacshund dogs "ate" her legs in a similar situation. No food available except for the deceased person. It was a photo in the book "Hollywood Babylon".Â

@Maggie May Gosh, there were so many deaths (women) in such a short period of time.
ANOTHER dead woman????? THATS FIVE IN 8 DAYS.Â
Wonder what happened to the dog? A real pity about the woman. We man never know for sure what happened.
Wow, perhaps dead for a month and no one noticed? How sad is that???
