PORTLAND, Ore. – Police are investigating a shooting in downtown Portland that left one man injured.

Police said a man checked himself into a hospital after being shot outside the Thirsty Lion Pub at S.W. 2nd and Ash Street around midnight Wednesday.
Police said they found shell casings at the scene where the man told them the shots were fired.

The injured man does not have life-threatening injuries, police said in a press release. The Portland Gang Team is involved in the investigation.

A man who gave his name as Jay said he was leaving work when heard the gunfire.

“I didn't really see anything, nobody really panicked. It was kinda spooky but this is happening down here all the time now,” he said.

Thursday afternoon, Dan Lenzen with Concept Entertainment issued a statement saying the Thirsty Lion Pub was not open at the time of the shooting, no employees were present and the incident did not involve the pub.

Lenzen also said "we are concerned about this incident occurring in this neighborhood."

Police have not released any suspect information. They are asking that anyone with information about the shooting to contact Detective Hergert at (503) 823-2081.
