PORTLAND, Ore. – Police are asking for help finding a man they suspect assaulted a Broadway Cab driver in June and stole his taxi.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of 42-year-old Ronald Heasley, who is believed to be in the Portland-Vancouver metro area.

Just after 9 p.m. on June 4, the taxi driver was stopped on the Morrison Bridge when a man ran up to the cab, jumped into the passenger seat and assaulted him, police said.

The driver got out of the cab to defend himself, and the man got behind the wheel and drove away.

There were three passengers, all of whom were able to get out safely before the man stole the taxi.

Police tracked down the taxi in Vancouver several hours later.

Heasley is a white man who is about 5-foot-4 and 170 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.

If you’ve seen Heasley, call Crime Stoppers at call 503-823-4357.
